Storm is one of the most powerful and iconic X-men in Marvel, as well as possibly THE most iconic and well known woman in Marvel. Her real name is Ororo Munroe and she was born in Africa where she was discovered by Professor X after trying to pick his pockets.
Storm is also a very powerful mutant, so much so that people often wonder if she’s an Omega Mutant (thought to be the most powerful mutants with infinite potential) or not. Storm’s powers allow her to control not only the weather, but the elements that come with them. For instance, she can control tornadoes, can control the wind itself and can even suck the air from your lungs if she chooses. She can control lightning clouds and make lightning strike from above, or she can shoot lightning from her hands (or eyes even), or she can manipulate the electricity in your brain if need be.
Her abilities are vast and include all types of storms from tornadoes, cyclones, hurricanes, ice storms, flash floods (the ability to seemingly spawn water from nowhere), firestorms, sandstorms, earthquakes, and more. She can also dehydrate enemies, produce plasma, cause nerve damage with her lightning, fly with her wind, sense using atmospheric pressure, form shields from wind, use air pressure to crush people, freeze enemies in an instant, and travel via vortex (almost a form of teleportation).
Storm also has indomitable will that has allowed her to resist telepathy from the likes of Shadow King (one of the world’s most powerful telepaths), Emma Frost (another of the most powerful telepaths), Psylocke (another telepath), and even mental attacks that caught Rachel Grey: the daughter of Jean Grey, a powerful telepath, and host of Phoenix (a powerful psychic entity). Beyond that, her lightning powers cause interference with telepathy, which is why she accidentally causes Professor X (Behind the scenes leader of the X-men and telepath with the ability to control billions) pain when he tries contacting her telepathically.
Storm has been the leader of the X-Men many times (even beating out the likes of Wolverine and Cyclops for it when she had no powers) and has also been an Avenger and even a queen. That’s right, a queen. And often she’s considered to be a goddess.
Concerning her queen status, she was once married to Black Panther, the ruler of Wakanda (a highly advanced nation with advanced technology located in Africa in the Marvel Universe) and helped rule as its queen.
She has saved the world many times and her show of powers has felled even the likes of Hulk, Magneto, Doctor Doom, several heralds of Galactus, and more.
She has always been a true hero and a queen and has earned her title as a Goddess.
