Wolverine vs. Spider-Man Part 3: The Winner

Wolverine vs. Spider-Man

In Part 1 I described Wolverine’s advantages in this fight, as well as his physical attributes. In Part 2, I described how Spider-Man could win this fight, and his physical attributes. Now in Part 3, I will discuss and analyze who would win in a fight between these two top tier street levelers.

The first attribute to evaluate is their strength. Wolverine was shown to be superhuman: kicking large concrete slabs, busting down metal doors, and breaking unbreakable chains. Spider-Man was shown to be far more powerful: lifting tanks, lifting buses, lifting train cars, knocking over objects with his index finger, lifting helicopters, and more. While I’d give Wolverine a strength of around 2 tons lifting, I’d give Spider-Man anywhere from 10 to 20 tons, making him either 5 or 10x stronger than Wolverine.

Strength: Advantage Spider-Man (large)

Next to evaluate is their speed and agility. Wolverine is very agile: dodging bullets with ease, dodging helicopter bullets, moving faster than the eye can see, and moving his hands in a blur, and making afterimages when he moves. Spider-Man on the other hand, is one of the fastest and most agile street levelers in Marvel: easily dodging multiple sniper bullets at once, dodging lasers, dodging projectile lightning, hitting speedsters, and being stated to be 40x faster than a normal human. Add on his Spider-Sense which allows him to dodge attacks he can’t even see and to dodge attacks at the speed of thought, and Spider-Man goes from slightly faster than Wolverine to way faster than him.

Speed: Advantage Spider-Man (slight without Spider-Sense, large with it)

Spider-Man vs. Wolverine 2

Next up is less of a physical attribute, and more of a skill: their fighting ability. Wolverine has taken down countless great fighters and is one of the greatest martial artists in the Marvel Universe. From Iron Fist to Shang Chi to Captain America and more, Wolverine’s proven that his lifetime of experience has done its job to catapult him to the top of the food chain when it comes to fighting ability. Spider-Man for the most part doesn’t use martial arts, and instead uses his great agility and speed combined with insults and his great strength to win fights. Recently, he’s been trained by Shang Chi and learned his own form of martial arts: The Way of the Spider, but it still likely wouldn’t be enough to give him the edge over Wolverine who has actually beaten Spiderman’s master Shang Chi in the past.

Fighting Ability: Advantage Wolverine (fairly large)

Finally, we must compare their durability. Wolverine is one of the most durable people in the Marvel Universe, especially when compared to street levelers. Wolverine has a skeleton made of unbreakable metal (adamantium) that even the likes of Hulk, Iron Man, and Colossus have been unable to break. Compounding on that, Wolverine has fast acting regeneration that will quickly heal any and all wounds he might get that surpass his adamantium skeleton. Spider-Man is fairly durable for street levelers: surviving hits from Hulk, Thing, Juggernaut and the like, but those are mostly glancing blows. He has slight regeneration, but it’s only faster than humans by a small amount and only really helps him heal outside of fights due to the time it takes to be effective. So he’s durable, but nowhere near the likes of Wolverine.

Durability: Advantage Wolverine (colossal)

Ultimately Spider-Man wins this fight due to his great advantages in strength and speed. He has knocked out Wolverine in the past and with good placement of his webs, he can easily disable him. Wolverine can take some fights due to his extreme durability and the lethalness of his adamantium claws, but overall Spider-Man takes it by a good majority.

Spider-Man wins 8.5/10.
